The games can be made multiplayer, but I'm not yet certain if they can be online multiplayer. The tutorial levels are set up as puzzles that you have to program in order to solve, which is cool, because programming really is a puzzle. I've spent a little time with it, and the language is incredibly flexible. Joystiq put up a great little how-to video of how Richard Mitchell made a side-scrolling shooter using Kodu: The language essentially consists of IF -> THEN statements that use icons to describe the condition and what to do. Kodu is game creation software that has been made easy enough for kids to understand and use. It is available on XNA Community Games on the XBox 360 by following this link.
